Interference Rejection
Mutualradarinterferenceislikelywhentwoor moreradar-equippedvessels
areoperatingwithin range of each other. This usuallyappears as a seriesof
smalldots movingto and from the displaycenter in a straightline or a long,
sweeping curve.This typeof interference ismost noticeableat longranges.

ThePathfinderPlusRadar includesa mechanism thatautomaticallyreduces
suchinterference.Thismechanismis normallyleft switchedon.However,if
youwish to detectthe presenceofotherradarsinthe vicinity, you can turnoff
theinterferencerejection.
Target Expansion
Youcanmake targets easiertoseeby expandingthem.Target expansion uses
acombinationof signalprocessing techniquesand pulse lengthoverrideto
increasethesizeoftargetsseenonthescreen.However,thismaycompromise
rangeresolution.Two levelsoftarget expansionare available,withlevel2
providinggreaterexpansionthan level1.
Target Wakes
Youcanseethe directionand speedwithwhichtargetsaremovingrelativeto
yourvesselbyselectingthe target wakes displayoption.
Whenwakes are switchedon, the targetisdisplayedatthebrightestleveland
thepreviouspositionsoftargets are retained atsuccessively fainterlevelson
thescreen.Youcanselectlong, mediumor shortwakes,whichretain
information from previousscans at a reducedvideo level.
Youcanclearexistingwakesfromthe displayby pressingtheCLEAR WAKES
softkey. The soft key is onlyavailablewhen wakes areswitched on; the
displaystartsshowingnew wakesas soon as theold wakes havebeencleared.
Whenwakesareswitchedoff,nonewwakesaredisplayedandexistingwakes
arecleared.
