Power for External Equipment
Externalequipmentcannotbepoweredfromthe display’sSeaTalk
interface. Itmust be powered fromtheship’s supply or viaa SeaTalkbus.
Ensurecorrectpolarityofthe SeaTalkconnection.
Forsystemswhere the ship’s power sourceis24V only, you may need to
installa24V to 12 V DC converter. This is onlynecessaryif the products
beingconnectedtothe displayare:
SeaTalkcompatible(forexample,compass,GPS and instruments),and
thereis no existingSeaTalk bus
NMEAcompatible,butoperateonly from12V (forexample,compass,
GPS andsome navigators)
