Trackpad and Cursor
Thecursorisusedto:
• Selecta positionon the screen.
• Selectanitem,e.g.guardzoneon theradar,chartobjectonthechartplotter.
• Selectan areaofthe radarimage to zoom into orpan the chart display..
Moving the Cursor
Youcan pressonanyofthefoursectionsofthetrackpadtomovethecursorin
thatdirection(up,down,leftorright),orpresstwosectionsatthesametimeto
movediagonally. The cursor moves fasteras you continue topress the
trackpad.Thecurrentcursorposition isshowninthecursordata box (if
selected).
Thecursoris normallydisplayedasacrosshair.However,ifyouhavenot
movedthecursorformorethanfiveseconds,whenyounextmoveitthecursor
isoutlinedbya circle so itiseasiertolocateon the screen.
Note:During many operations youcannotmove the cursor aroundthe
screen;ifyoucannotmovethecursorusingthetrackpad,checkthedefaultsoft
keysare displayed(unless theyhave been switchedOFF insystem set up). If
not,press ENTER until theyare displayed.
Context-Sensitive Cursor Control
Thecursoris context-sensitive. Whenthe cursoris positionedover special
featuresonthe displayatextlabelappearstoidentifythefeatureasdetailedin
Table 1-3 .
Moving and deleting items with the context-sensitive cursor
Someitemsontheradar/chartplotterscreenhaveinformationassociatedwith
them.Most informationis displayedin a data box. Thecontext-sensitive
cursorallows youtomovedataboxes.Italsoallowsyoutomoveordelete
otheritems,suchasradarguardzones.Furtherdetailsof itemsthatcan be
movedor deletedaregivenin the appropriate sectionsthroughoutthis
handbook.
➤ To move any databox or selectableitem:
1. Usethetrackpadtopositionthecursorovertheitemuntiltheitem’slabelis
displayed.
2. PressENTER to takecontrolof the item, use thetrackpad tomoveit to the
requiredposition.
3. PressENTER againtofix theposition,orpressCLEAR to abandonthe
move.
➤ Todeleteanitem:
1. Usethetrackpadtopositionthecursorovertheitemuntiltheitem’slabelis
displayedthenpressCLEAR.
