Target Point Arrival
Target Point Arrival
Thearrivalalarmisusedtoalertyouwhenthevesselisapproachingthetarget
point.Thearrivalalarmisdefinedasacircle(notvisibleonthescreen)around
thetarget.Youcanspecifyradiusof the arrivalalarm(seeSection 6.3).
Thealarmis triggeredwheneitherof the followingconditionsis met:
• Thedistanceto the targetpointislessthanthatspecifiedfor the arrival
alarm.
• Yourvesselreachestheclosestpointofapproachtothetarget(definedbya
linepassingthroughthe waypointandperpendicularto the route leg).
➤ To cancelthe arrivalalarm and go towardsthe next waypointintheroute,
either press any key
or waitfor 10 seconds.
Thetargetbecomestheorigin,thenextwaypointbecomesthetargetpoint,and
thetwoareconnectedbyadottedlineindicatingthecurrentleg.Anyprevious
routelegisremovedfromthe screen,but waypointsremain.
Note:WhenfollowingarouteusingaSeaTalkautopilot,theautopilotwillnot
turnto the new waypointuntil itisacceptedat the autopilotcontrolunit.
Other Follow Route Options
Youcanusethesoft keys to followa route fromaselectedwaypoint(joina
route),orifalreadyfollowing,youcanadvancetothenextwaypoint.Youcan
alsorestartthe cross trackerror, settingthe currentvesselpositionas the new
origin.
Inaddition, youcan move a selectedwaypointasdescribedin Section 5.3,or
removea waypoint from the route as describedin Section 5.4.
Joining a Route
➤ To starttrackingthe currentrouteat a selected waypoint:
1. Movethe cursor overtherequiredwaypointuntil thelettersWPT and the
waypointsoftkeysaredisplayed.
2. Pressthe FOLLOW FROM HERE softkey.
Your vesselfollowstheroute,usingthe selected waypointas the target
point.
3. Toreturntothedefaultdisplay,movethecursorawayfromthewaypointor
pressCLEAR or ENTER.
